About Melanie
Melanie is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern who holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Miami and a Master of Science in Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. Melanie specializes in working with adolescents, teens, and young adults, with experience supporting clients navigating ADHD, anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation, identity exploration, and life transitions. Her approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, play-based interventions, and trauma-informed care.
In session, Melanie strives to cultivate a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen and heard. She is passionate about helping clients build self-awareness and resilience, aiming to empower them to find their voice, strengthen their sense of self, and navigate life’s challenges with confidence. Melanie incorporates mindfulness practices to support clients in staying grounded and present, while fostering an environment where authenticity and emotional expression are encouraged. She believes that therapy is a collaborative space where clients can explore their experiences openly and develop skills that support both inner growth and everyday functioning.
Outside of CMC
Melanie is a free spirit who views life as a sacred and meaningful journey. She holds a vibrant love for philosophy and classical literature, which have become companions in her exploration of meaning, beauty, and the complexity of life. Some of her favorite books include The Alchemist and Thus Spoke Zarathustra, both of which have left a lasting impression on her and profoundly enriched her perspective, guiding her along her path of growth. Music holds a central place in her soul and continues to be a source of deep connection to herself and others. Inspired by the ways mental and physical health are intertwined, her growing interest in functional and integrative medicine extends beyond her work, coloring the way she approaches her own health and well-being.
