About Allison
Dr. Allison McMillan, LMFT, is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist committed to creating a caring, collaborative space for teens, young adults, individuals, couples, and families. Whether you're navigating a life transition, facing relationship challenges, seeking to better understand yourself, or managing anxiety, Allison believes you don't have to go it alone. Together, you'll explore what's going on, discover insight, and develop practical tools to move forward with more clarity and confidence.
Allison holds a Master's in Marriage & Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University and earned her PhD in Couple & Family Therapy from Nova, with a dissertation examining the impact of short-form video content — such as TikTok and Instagram Reels — on anxiety and depression in Millennials and Gen Z.
Her therapeutic approach is grounded in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Bowen Family Systems Theory, and Narrative Therapy. Allison believes therapy is a collaborative journey—one where you are the expert in your story, and she is your companion in exploring it. When you feel safe to be seen and heard, you can begin to grow, reconnect with your relationships, and create meaningful change.
Outside of CMC
Outside of her clinical work, Allison is a passionate explorer and connector. She loves traveling and visiting family in Michigan, staying active at the gym, and nurturing both her mental and physical wellness. A self-described social butterfly, she enjoys brunches, beach days, and relaxed movie nights with friends. As a high school theater kid, music is always part of her day—you’ll often find her singing along or dancing to new and old artists like Bad Bunny, Taylor Swift, Aerosmith, and more. At the end of a long day, you’ll find her unwinding with a good fantasy, historical fiction, or romance novel.
